Solemn Gethsemane

The solace of Jerusalem, a peaceful grove of ancient olive trees

Strengthened by angels, Jesus knelt to pray for the sins of all men and women while friends slept

A pressing time where blood came from his every pore

Even the weeds hid their heads in shame and no animal dared to disturb the silence

Meekly the Lamb of God offered an atonement; his life for ours

Saying if thou be willing remove this cup from me, nevertheless not my will but thine be done

So in agony and sorrow he drank the cup of wrath, defeating the Prince of Darkness

And in that moment, the garden became one of the holiest places on Earth
